We often think that more time we have, the more work we can get done. But my experience has taught me otherwise.
I will share an example of my life that would probably shed more light. There was a day when I came in to work to be immediately pulled into a serious issue in our production environment, which needed a quick fix. I sat to solve the problem, thinking and thinking ... trying to solve the problem. While thoughts kept racing through my mind, the solution was far fetched. This was a day when I had postponed my daily practice of meditation to the evening. After about 4 hours of trying that led me nowhere, I had enough. I quickly left everything as is, to rush to the break room ... where I sat and did a quick 20-minute meditation. When I was back, the solution to the issue came to me in the next 10 minutes.
What I had achieved in those 10 minutes with a quiet mind, I could not in the 4 hours prior.
What I had achieved in those 10 minutes with a quiet mind, I could not in the 4 hours prior. This really got me thinking, of how the degree to which my mind was clear and calm was affecting how productive I was at work, and for a matter of fact, even in everyday life.
We have all had those 10 minutes in our lives, where we get so much more done ... where things seem to fall in place and solutions seem to come faster, much faster.
This post is just a reminder to bring our awareness to what helped us get into that "zone". Wouldn't it be great to have the ability to go into that zone anytime we want? Something worth pondering upon. :)
